I play bass and have dreamed up this goal...

I own this bass and know how to play most of the songs on the Joshua Tree. So I am going to learn the rest of the songs and play it straight through. This bass was used on most of the recordings:

Then I want to buy a Rickenbacker 4003, which was the primary bass (4001) used on Sgt. Pepper's and play along to the entire album:

Then I want to buy a MusicMan StingRay, which was the primary bass played on Blood Sugar Sex Magik:

What a coincidence that The joshua tree is tied for my least favorite album of all time.

Good luck with your goal dude, sounds pretty cool.

True... hobbies should only benefit others, like listening to hours of music alone.

Good luck. You might have trouble with Suck My Kiss however.

Thanks, but more worried about the bass solo in Naked In The Rain for that album.

Doing this because these three bassists have really influenced me musically.
Flea blowing funk bass out of the water
Adam making powerful driving bass lines
Paul making beautiful melodic bass lines

I've actually wrote a couple songs. None of them are produced since I'm not in a band. But I want to see how they turn out.
