Absolutely love this album. Holocene, Calgary and Beth/Rest melts me like bare feet on a beach on Tenerife. The production is one of the best ever as well.

Used to hate it, think it's a pretty great album now, but For Emma is light years better.

I've yet to listen to this. For Emma, Forever Ago was good, though far from exceptionnal. I'm not really tempted to listen to this actually. I'll do it someday, but for now I have much more interesting things to discover.

I've just listened to For Emma once or twice, but it seems to be another winner. It doesn't have the awesome production values, though.

I enjoyed For Emma but it's always barely missing my chart, should I try this out?

I never thought much of this album for a very long time, but after maybe my 10th listen it really clicked. I actually think this is better than For Emma now, this album proves that Justin Vernon can compose and entire band and isn't just limited to guitar, creating really magical landscapes of sound.
He could have just made a second For Emma, but instead he went and did the right thing, and made something so much bigger in scope, but so much more delicate in tone.
