I've never been able to get into Leviathan or Lurker of Chalice...I'm really picky with black metal, and his is just too much for me. A bit too heavy of an onslaught, I guess?
Grouper is an all time favourite, easy.

Well this one is unsurprisingly not going to end well but Wrest makes some of the ugliest music around. I tend to think Leviathan's compilation albums (Verrater, Howl Mockery at the Cross and his split with Xasthur) are his best since they have a more "trapped" feeling to them but most of his studio albums are also very good. Lurker of Chalice is probably more "digestible" i guess. Mostly because it has more of an ambient feel rather than a straight up barrage of sound. But its still pretty scary stuff.
All in all Grouper is great and im not going to complain (too much anyways haha) when Wrest gets KOed. But i mean.. maybe someone will like him because of this. Or more likely people will hate it but hey thats probably more fun for me anyways
