I don't know what it is about the Eagles, but I cringe everytime I hear any song they've recorded. I can't find any reason behind it but there is a subconsious distaste so I'll leave it at that.

Rate Your Music really doesn't like this in comparison to BEA, which seems to hail it as a masterpiece.

I actually enjoyed it, gave it a 4/5 - I think I'd need to hear it again to really soak it in, but I can't understand why anyone would dislike it.

This is a fantastic album, spent a very very long time in my top 100, deservedly so, it's a great album, favourite tracks are probably the title track and Life In The Fast Lane.

I've always enjoyed The Eagles and this is probably my favorite album of theirs. I still remember hearing "Hotel California", the song, for the first time and loving the guitar solo at the end. Still love it just as much today.

It's pretty good, but at the same time it was a bit of a let down. I was expected a masterpiece.

I don't understand why this is so well regarded on BEA either. That said I don't really get Eagles hate. They aren't particularly great, but I feel like there was a lot of stuff like this in the 70s that was neither mind blowing nor mind numbing. In fact I think much of that stuff has become loathed more through endless replays on "classic rock" FM radio rather than some awakening people came to after the 70s.

The endless replays make it much worse since it is 2013 i think and this shit wasn't any good in 1977 or whenever it came out and should have been retired in 1980 but even if this was not popular and someone kicked me in the balls, tied me up and made me listen to this album i would still hate it.
