My favourite Polly album, and one that's been on and off my chart over the past year or so. It's angry and impassioned, yet ethereal and gracefully understated. I actually saw her promoting this record, but I found the live show disappointing. It was dull and lifeless, the complete opposite to the album. I love her voice here, it's quite unlike the voice(s) she's used on her other records, and the instrumentation is great too, ostensibly conservative and fitting for the singer-songwriter vibe but still just frayed enough to give these songs the edge that they need. A fantastic record from a fantastic talent.

An album I very much enjoy, although I do think it's a tad overrated.

The 20/20 Experience is the best album of this decade so far

You know what, I take what I said back. Because, I just finished listening to Let England Shake and it blows everything I heard from this decade out of the water. One of the most magnificent albums I have ever heard.

Masterpiece! The album that really got me into her as I didn't really get more into alternative until around 2010 or so and then I heard she had a new album coming, I listened assuming it'd be okay but nothing spectacular like many of her peers at this point (Bjork, etc...) and instead got a masterpiece. I have it on vinyl.

Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

I'll be honest, I've listened to this album a few times, and it just bores me. It's not terrible, couple decent songs here and there, but generally, I found it thoroughly uninteresting.
