I like Pulp. This isn't an album I return to often (although I am partial to sticking on His'n'Hers from time to time), but they probably sit somewhere just above Blur and just below the Super Furry Animals on the Britpop scale, in my opinion. People often talk about 'Common People', but I actually prefer pretty much all the other singles from this album, in particular 'Disco 2000', which I think is a fantastic song, but also 'Sorted for E's and Whizz' and 'Mis-shapes'. Anyway, this is a clever pop album helped by some catchy tunes and some witty lyrics. It also helps that I've always found Jarvis Cocker to be a thoroughly likeable person in interviews. A nice record, and one that I might stick on tonight actually, depending on how much I've had to drink. It's definitely a drinking record.

This is one of my all time favourite albums, it's in my top 10. Because, without writing an essay about it, I feel of all the British albums released in the 90's, this one sums up 90's Britain the best.

One of the greatest albums of the 90s. It's insanely catchy without sacrificing intellect.

It's quite good. Every track is catchy as hell. I do, however, agree with nezzle that "Common People" is by no means one of the better songs on the album. I'd probably say "Pencil Skirt" was my favorite if pressured.

1000! Party

But on a serious note, I love this album, currently 30th on my overall chart and my favourite 'Britpop' album. Admittedly I got it mainly for the 'big' singles 'Common People' and 'Disco 2000' (I'm not even sure if there were other singles off it?), those 2 tracks got some serious playtime by my naive, teenage self, dancing round my kitchen howling along to 'Common People', while I overlooked everything else. Once I finally gave the album quite a few proper listens through though, I was immersed, how had I overlooked it for so long, I'll never know. Guess my current favourite track would probably be 'Sorted For E's & Whizz', but it's an ever changing position.

I'm not crazy about britpop whatsoever, but if I had to pick a favorite it'd be this.
