Awesome, although the last few songs are weaker. Red Rain and In Your Eyes are absolute winners. I prefer his debut but this is still stunning.

I like the two funky songs on here. I'm not much of a ballad type guy.

Gabriel's best solo work, I think ...

Gabriel always avoided the trap of making world music sound merely like a gimmick instead he incorporated naturally where needed into just well crafted songs as he did on the masterwork 'In Your Eyes'.

'Don't Give Up', 'Big Time' and 'We Do What We're Told' are favourites too. There's good reason it's his generally most lauded effort.

This is actually a total masterpiece of sound. The moods are so dark and the songs so spotless it is truly amazing! It's on my chart. Probably not high enough though.

"Mercy Street" "Dont Give Up" "Red Rain" and definitely "In your Eyes" are all absolute gems.

this album makes me happy.

The music video for sledgehammer is cool. Overall, pretty solid, holds up a lot better than most other pop albums from the era. There aren't any songs as good as "Games Without Frontiers", but I like "In Your Eyes" a lot.
