For me:

Sunday Morning
by Velvet Underground from Velvet Underground and Nico

I Wanna Be Adored
by The Stone Roses from self titled

I Saw Her Standing There
by The Beatles from Please Please Me

Blitzkrieg Bop
by The Ramones from self titled

I thought another interesting topic would be 'best first recording' but that may require some extensive research...

"Black Sabbath" off of Black Sabbath by Black Sabbath immediately comes to mind. The creepy rain and haunting lyrics, plus the simple use of the tritone is incredibly powerful. Incredible way to kick off the album, the band's career, and many would argue, the heavy metal genre.

My absolute favourite is 21st Century Schizoid Man by King Crimson. Now that is a way to start off.

Some other favourites:

Purple Haze by The Jim Hendrix Experience
See No Evil by Television
Neighborhood #1 (Tunnels) by Arcade Fire
Get Away by Yuck
Since I Left You by The Avalanches
Bone Machine by Pixies
Mojo Pin by Jeff Buckley

Which are all either my favourite or second favourite from each of their respective albums.

I love "Good Times Bad Times" off of Led Zeppelin I.

It just introduces the band so perfectly. The guitar solos are awesome, the drumming is incredible, Plant's voice sounds great, the bass is fantastic, it's like the song just says "hey world, here's Led Zeppelin".
