JMan, I'm super open minded when it comes to music... ya know, i'll try anything once and if you lead me astray I will never listen to you again! JK, but seriously.
I'm liking the stuff I've seen on here so far. Hopefully I'll expand my horizons quite a bit.

If you like rap, Beastie Boys and De La Soul are my faves.
Indie rock: Arcade Fire (Funeral and Reflektor are the best), and NMH.
Punk/Post-punk: Sex Pistols and Arctic Monkeys.
Not my favorite genres, but I think you'd enjoy them more than the hard rock i like so much.
Do you use the 1 album rule? I never liked that rule.

If you like Belle and Sebastian I think you'll find The Smiths a good band to get into. If you like The Raconteurs and The White Stripes then you'll like The Gun Club and Flat Duo Jets a lot. Etc.
