FIRST GIG: (discussed in another thread) Cheap Trick

FIRST ALBUM: (bought myself, not bought for me as a gift) Prince "Purple Rain"

FIRST SINGLE: no idea. probably bought in 1989. i'd be able to say if i didn't lose this data in a hard drive crash in 2010. The first guess that comes to mind is ozzy osbourne & lita ford "close my eyes forever"

I remember the first single I got was "Gangsta's Paradise". Absolutely loved that song when it first came out in 1995. The first full album I actually got was a Beach Boys greatest hits collection, though it contained most of their pre-1965 hits. I went to a few radio-station sponsered concerts when I was in Junior High but the first major event was I went to Bumbershoot in 2003.

First Single - Truck On Tyke by T-Rex
It had its own T-Rex paper sleeve and I loved both sides. "Sitting Here I don't Care for you..." Great stuff.

First Album
The Sweet - The Sweet's Biggest Hits
I can remember arguing in the playground about who was the best - Slade or the Sweet or Mud or Gary Glitter. I loved Sweet.

First Concert
Boomtown Rats at Dundee Caird Hall in 1979.

I remember buying 'Hey!' by the Glitter Band on the Bell label for £1.49 reduced from the RRP of £1.99. It's now a rare collectors item and influenced Mark E Smith in a big way, apparently.

why the hell would I know?

If I remember correctly we each got given the "Music Sounds Better With You" single for Easter or Christmas or something one year. And to this day it is still a BAMF tune.
