Another masterpiece from The Shins. A bit more diverse. Red Rabbits, Sleeping Lessons, Australia, Sea Legs are favorites. James Mercer <3

I have an interesting history with The Shins. Back in my sophomore year, I had a lot of friends who liked them, but I'd never heard any of their music, so I decided to look them up. I searched for them on youtube, and the first song that came up was "Phantom Limb". It was incredible. So I looked for another one, and the next one I discovered was "Australia". Again, another outstanding song. So I went out and bought this album.
Disappointingly, none of the other tracks were anywhere close to the quality of the two I'd already heard. It was a sad day for swedenman
Nevertheless, I've since discovered their first album, and I quite enjoy it.

Not as good as Chutes Too Narrow or Oh Inverted World, but close. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.

This, essentially, although perhaps a bit harsh.
Sleeping Lessons is possibly my favourite Shins track though.

Supremely underrated album.
Yes: Chutes Too Narrow > Wincing The Night Away
But: Wincing The Night Away > Oh, Inverted World
Sleeping Lessons is definitely my favourite Shins song. Absolute magic, that song.

I remember giving it a listen a while ago, but it didn't make much of an impression. I'll have to give it another shot.
