Great !! Reminds me of a cool road trip I did with some friends a few years ago (this and London Calling).

One of those records (like most SY albums) where I can remember my exact first impression.
The assault of "100 %", the great lyrics, the length, and "SUGAR KANE".

And Sonic Youth are bloody underrated.

Yep definitely underrated.

That's why they're in the top 50 bands on this website.

I'm sorry. I got confused when I saw Coldplay ranked 17 places higher on that same chart.

Are there any noise in this one? Having heard Daydream Nation, EVOL and Goo, I've heard close to zero dissonance in their records, which have disappointed me considering they're tagged as "noise rock" everywhere. I do like Sonic Youth, but it's in the same way that I enjoy listening to Fleetwood Mac. If they've actually released a noisy album, please let me know. I think I'm misunderstanding this band in the way that I expect to hear some experimental/unconventional stuff but hear great straight forward pop music instead

Confusion Is Sex by Sonic Youth

and

Bad Moon Rising by Sonic Youth

This is what you're looking for. Both great releases.

I think we can all agree that Coldplay is extremely overrated, but using your logic I can say any band is underrated.

This is still fantastic Sonic Youth. On par with Goo, close to Daydream Nation. It's just a little inconsistent, but the high points are stellar.

Target their releases before EVOL.
