But technically, those aren't hidden tracks.

This is the back of 2112. |
This is not a picture of the back of 2112. This is a picture of the back of The String Quartet Tribute To 2112. Please, JMan. try to be a little smarter about this.
The back of the act6ual 2112 album by Rush clearly listes the song as one track with titled sections. _________________ May we all get to heaven

I've never even heard that album, but that clearly lists the first track as having multiple sections,
But still being one track, much like something like Green Days "Jesus of Suburbia"

Thanks for taking over this thread to talk about a topic in another thread guys...
No one answered my initial question. If there is a hidden track on the original release, should it be listed in the database. For example, the original release of Purple by STP has a hidden track called "My Second Album". Should that be listed in the database or not?

The reason I ask is because it's not done consistently. I've found some albums that have them listed while others don't.

I think they should be listed here. Artists hide the track as a gimmick, but they're separate tracks. It's hard to see two different songs separated by 5 minutes of silence as one piece. It would make track rating easier, for one, and make the database more comprehensible.

If the title is known should they be listed in the track list?
This question assumes that they were on the original release. |
Apologies for the delay in responding. Nobody has raised this before, so this isn't something there is a policy for at the moment. As everyone knows here (& you mentioned in your original post), BEA currently uses the original track listing of an album. If, on the original release, there are hidden tracks, personally I have no problem with those being added to the database and perhaps these tracks could be suffixed as '[Hidden Track]' (or something similar) so that people are aware when looking at a release that the listing might differ to what is visible on the artwork.
