This thread made me decide to adventure some hardcore punk bands. I found a band called Choking Victim and their album No God/No Manager went on my chart as soon as I finished listening to it.
That was hell of a nice surprise to find such an awesome album.
DLGGLD, I noticed you listened to Living In Darkness. I know you're into surf-y stuff, but you might also try Adolescents - Adolescents and Social Distortion - Mommy's Little Monster; the former is more straight punk, the latter is more blues-y punk. They all three formed around the same time in the same scene, Orange County (part of the larger LA scene). Adolescents had one of the most recognizable "hardcore" punk anthems, "Amoeba," but here's my favorite song from them:

I had seen you said it had surf influences and thought it was a good way to introduce myself to the genre,really liked it.Will probably move straight onto those albums next,cheers,will keep y'all updated with how I get on.That song you posted is sick,can't wait to hear the album.
