Put Oasis in the same category as Coldplay and U2 - unremarkable bands that got WAY overexposed, resulting in a somewhat excessive backlash.

Slide Away gets the thumbs up from me. Yes, they were irritating pricks but in the beginning, just for a moment, they really had something... Then they released Roll With It. d'oh!

I have a soft spot for Roll With It. It sounds more 90s than most Oasis songs... and that is an achievement! I think I look on the 90's guitar music in the UK with an unnatural fondness. It reminds of being young. I seem to believe there was a better image with the bands back then. They act too ordinary nowadays. Might be me with my rose tinted glasses. Regardless... I want to see bands with an image again.
