It depends on the album. If it's a concept album, I'm fine with two songs going into one, hence me saying "sometimes."

Seamless tracks were difficult in the days of mixtapes... You really had to time the pause button well when recording a tape for that cute girl in your class. _________________ Finnegan was super bad-ass.

If two songs blend right into each other (like "Two-Headed Boy" into "The Fool" or "The Happiest Days of Our Lives" into "Another Brick in the Wall pt. 2") then obviously silence is bad, but if one song doesn't blend directly into the next, then it makes sense to have a bit of silence, but sometimes there's too much silence. And then there's a whole different debate about the lacuna (purposeful silence, like on "Motion Picture Soundtrack" on Kid A). The use of lacunae annoys me, but I understand that it's a thing that artists sometimes like to do.
I voted for part of the music, but I think it's somewhere between part of the music and breaktime for next masterpiece. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!

Hidden tracks were the worst part of CDs in the 90s. It's like as soon as Nirvana did it on Nevermind then EVERYONE had to have a hidden track.

The only time I find silence to be bothersome is if there is a long space hiding a bonus track. Or an album like Danzig 4...at the end, there are 66 small silent tracks, then a shitty bonus track.
