The only part of this album I have ever really liked is the instrumental jam in the mid section of "Light My Fire". Outside of that, just a strong meh. It sounds very aged to me and Morrison.. well, he does try his best, that's obvious. The Doors are one of those bands I do need to explore more, however. I think their later material might be more to my liking than this.

I used to think this album was just OK, but recently I've begun finding it more and more a really enjoyable psychedelic album. There are a few lesser songs like I Looked at You and maybe Alabama Song and Take It As It Comes, but the songs are nearly perfect, especially the first two and Light My Fire (the single version of that song is much less impressive though because of the edit).
