Honestly, I don't see what makes this album so great. It's just a bunch of folk performances that range from annoying to boring with some kind of twist that S&G find to be present but it is completely absent. Apart from the title track, this album failed to grab me.

I tend to agree. This is one of those albums that is very much of its era. It hasn't stood the test of time imo.

My mind is boggled at the fact that they decided to include a LIVE version of Bye Bye Love, with handclapping, and it STILL sounds completely fake. It's ridiculous. It's such a giant fail on every level, and also, there is just no point in including it. This is not a bad album, mind, I'm just...I can't fathom what went through their heads at the time.

As for the title track, EyeKanFly, the biggest sin is the overwrought songwriting, I suspect. With a little trimming or altering it could've been an excellent song. It's so close, yet so far away for me. :/

Okay, I'm glad I'm not the only one who finds this album pretty mediocre.

I agree with you about "Bye Bye Love". It would've worked fine on a live album, but including it on Bridge Over Troubled Water? I don't think I'll ever understand that decision. I don't know that it sounds "fake", but I do agree that it's ridiculous (in a bad way).

And I still disagree with "Bridge Over Troubled Water", but to each his own.
