I like this album a lot. "I'm On Fire" and "Dancing in the Dark" are two of my favorite songs of the 80's. What makes this album so interesting to me is that it is such a unique album in Springsteen's discography. It's his most pop album and it really shows the signs that it was from the mid 80's: overly loud drums in the mix and the synths, which haven't aged really well. Not his best record in the 80's (I would vote The River), but still an excellent and unique album by a great artist.

Also, "Glory Days" is one of the few pre- 90's songs Springsteen released that I hate

The title track has to be one of the most misunderstood and misused songs of all time.

Absolutley.

On another note, I've always appreciated My Hometown more since it was used so well in Roger and Me. The scenes of urban decay in Flint while scored to Spingsteen sing about his own blue-collar hometown are powerful.

Could never get into it.
My dad really likes it, but it just sounds to cheesy for me.

Born In The USA is a solid album--good songs marred by the lame arrangements/production. Certainly nowhere near as good as his best work. Here's my Bruce list:

1. Born to Run
2. Darkness on the Edge of Town
3. Tunnel of Love
4. E Street Shuffle
5. Greetings From Asbury Park
6. Nebraska
7. Magic
8. Seeger Sessions
9. Ghost of Tom Joad
10. The River
11. Human Touch
12. Born in the USA
13. Devils and Dust
14. Lucky Town
15. The Rising
16. Working on a Dream.

Still deciding exactly where Wrecking Ball slots in.

The album holds well outside the singles.
