Let's start a feverish Bowie debate to take attention away from the usual with Metallica.

This is the worst album ever. When I hear it, I want to stab myself in the ear with a BBQ spit. Bowie = decomposing dog poop.

or...

This is the best album ever. When I hear it, I am awash with the purest emotions. Bowie = demi-God.

Discuss.

This album falls in between for me. I'm boring Confused

Certainly Bowie's best moment as far as I'm concerned. Loooove this album. I feel like he really created his own sound here (not that he wasn't still borrowing he obviously was but I think he was able to make it into something of his own).

I sometimes wish it had 1 or 2 extra tracks but the briefness makes sense in terms of the backstory (a backstory that probably enhances my enjoyment of the album). Regardless what is here is flawless. 'Stay' has always been a favourite.

It bored you but it was on your overall chart?

#JMan logic.

I enjoyed this album very much, but I wouldn't put it amongst my favorites. Haven't heard it in a while though. I'll have to do that soon.

Probably my 3rd or 4th favorite Bowie release. Really great sound on this album that was a wonderful in between from his early and late 70's stuff, and as far as Bowie albums goes it's really unique. While I prefer Hunky Dory and Low certainly and maybe Ziggy as well, it only speaks to how fantastic Bowie is that an album this good is still several ranks below some of his others in my eyes.

I remember the first two tracks being awesome, but it's been a long time and I don't remember anything else at all. Should probably listen to this after I finish my re-listening of Radiohead's discography (actually I've only re-listened to Pablo Honey so far so that means I have to wait for a long time anyway Laughing )

This is my 2nd favorite Bowie album (and one of the albums breaking the 1 album per artist rule on my chart, which says something).

There was a month last semester when I had to listen to this album once or twice a day, it was just constantly in my head. The title track and "Word on a Wing" are my favorites.

Also, the Thin White Duke is by far the coolest Bowie persona.

HairyMarx will tell you " Bowie = decomposing dog poop" so i'm gonna have to side with Bowie = demi-God

I tend to feel that the albums from this era of Bowie are inconsistent in terms of quality, but the songs that hit really hit.

You sure live up to your user name, Jason Confused. Seeing as I have had multiple discussions about the way I view things with many people who agree with me outside of BEA, I have no reason to assume you don't know what I'm talking about and that you're not just toying with me. You can stop complaining about my chart at any time.

And so I don't make this thread about me, I'm going to give off my description of the album: The best two tracks were World on a Wing and Golden Years. Overall, the album had some interesting moments and none of the song were flops. But the slow tone is a little bit of a yawn fest and there's not as much fun in the album as there is in Hunky Dory. The album is currently at #158 on my overall chart.
