It never really occurred to me that Crywank might be a joke until I sent my friend some of his songs and said friend pointed that out.
His bandcamp describes him as, "Crywank is James Clayton trying as hard as he can to do some folk-punk influenced acoustic music with no previous experience playing guitar. He's a pretty sad dude who is really poor and doesn't wash."
I'm not sure if it is just the straightfoward nature and rawness of Crywank's lyrics and sound or it really is a play off of 'sad music'. What are your thoughts?
Never heard of him before. Listening to it now, it doesn't really sound like parody at all.
P.S. welcome to BEA
thanks bro!
and yeah, i didn't think so at first but then said friend made me second guess myself because of the, uh, blatant(???) lyrics. plaintive??? how do words.
i needed an opinion of someone who has more music knowledge than i. and that is you. so thank.
