I like "Rubber" better than anything GY!BE has ever done, but Yuck's debut just doesn't hold up as an album
in fact, "Rubber" is one of my favorite songs ever, but still...

Meh, maybe there's a few tracks there in the middle which aren't quite up to par, but I'd say it gets fully back on track by Operation and then maintains that until the end. First two tracks and the mentioned Operation and Rubber are all fantastic though, and I think it overall makes for a pretty excellent album.
I still probably prefer FsharpAsharp, but I threw in a vote for Yuck, because it deserves better.

I ... I ... I ...
Yuck.
I'm sorry. F#A# however you type an infinity sign is a great album and this was really tough for me. The deciding factor here was just the spoken bits in F#A#. They felt unnatural. Like "At The Bottom of Everything". I wouldn't like "I'm Wide Awake It's Morning" half as much as I do if every 3rd ish track had a spoken bit.
Still a great album. Surprised to have found a matchup this tough here. _________________

I'd never heard of either album or band, so I went into this one entirely without prejudice.
That's not true. I prejudized that Yuck would live up to its name. Instead, tt was actually quite enjoyable, more Britpop-sounding than its band name and scary child's drawing would have led you to believe.
Then I heard F#A#oo. The first half was the aural equivalent of a warp tunnel, like you see at the end of 2001 A Space Odyssey. I love a good warp tunnel. The second half was equally interesting with an amazing variety of instruments. Is that a banjo? Is that bagpipes? Is that a string quartet?
So what do I vote for, the best, most enjoyable music (Yuck) or the most interesting (F-sharp) ?
I'm going with F#A#oo, but I won't be disappointed either way. The closest decision for me so far, with only a 1/4 star difference in my ratings.
