James White and the Blacks is a good name. The Humans is a good name too, and I thought of it long before R.E.M.'s drummer decided to make a shit band.

Agree with these, but do people pronounce Jay-Z Jay-Zed??
I generally dont like band names that are over 3 words and prefer one word names like Tusk, Sleep, Grimes, Gas, Fauna, etc. Foreign or imaginary names are cool too as long as they're relatively short (Popol Vuh, Krallice, Wold, Wedard, Murmuure)
I do really hate bands that sound like "random-adjective random-noun" ala Animal Collective, Vampire Weekend, Velvet Cacoon (or Underground for that matter), Arctic Monkeys, Flaming Lips, and so on. Not really a fan of The ___s either (The strokes, the beatles, the vines).
Gnaw Their Tongues is a cool band name that's fairly long but I cant think of any others off the top of my head. Also like Scrufizzer for some reason. Hm maybe ill try and make a concrete list soon (chart idea?)
