Paramore's new album comes out in April, might be cool. Phoenix and Alice in Chains have stuff coming too.

Manic Street Preachers never released the 70 song album they (they meaning 'Nicky Wire') promised. It was a terrible year.

Any number of new BASED GOD mixtapes, two new Ghostface albums (one with Adrian Younge, and a mooted sequel to Supreme Clientele), possible Wu re-union (unlikely), new Jay-Z, Jay Electronica ( Laughing ), new Action Bronson (one album with Harry Fraud, one with Tommy Maas hopefully), GZA, Earl, Wavves, Juicy J, ScHoolboy Q, possibly Andre 3000 (highly unlikely, but would be lovely).

Didn't think much of Wavves, Lil B's output was fun enough, Ghostface's Twelve Reasons to Die contained some great production but was let down somewhat by the going-through-the-motions lyrics, Wu-Tang record is still being mooted but the signs don't look good, latest Jay-Z was fucking terrible, Action Bronson's EP with Harry Fraud was great and Blue Chips 2 was ever better, Juicy J's album was fun as fuck, still waiting on ScHoolboy Q but I have high hopes, Andre 3000 and Jay Electronica predictably let another year go by without putting out anything of note, not even sure I'd bother listening to a new GZA album at this stage unless people said it was good, Earl released a really nice record. So yeah, I got a lot of what I wanted but it was a mixed bag. Thankfully there were some fantastic surprises along the way. The year's been great, tbh.

Yeah 2013 was just generally one of the more quirkier and unusual years recently, a lot of hidden gems and perhaps less "monolithic" albums than 2012, but fascinating none the less. Another great year for female singer-songwriter releases (and the guy's weren't too shabby either), and one of the best years for country in the entire genre's existience.

I think Yeah Yeah Yeahs' and MGMT's albums were two of the most disappointing I could have ever imagined.
