Starts of brilliantly, then the fun gradually wears off until it becomes a chore to sit through. Opening track is great. Been a long time since I've listened though. When I first heard it in my teens I thought it was the best thing ever created. De-loused is a much more gratifying listen as a whole though, and it's the only album of theirs I've really gone back to.

I remember liking L'Via L'Viaquez. Haven't heard the rest, don't really care for The Mars Volta after hearing Deloused.

I wish 'The Widow' stopped at 3:10, as the 2 1/2 minutes of noise after it kills it.

This. Also, L'Via L'Viaquez is fantastic. The rest is not particularly good.

I've heard this called "metal." How incredibly offensive.

Right because bad albums invalidate the genres they belong to.

Interesting, I'm more offended that good albums like Enter the Wu-Tang and Midnight Marauders are sorted into a novelty genre like hip-hop.
