It's been a long, long time since I've listened to Rolling Stones but I'm kind of getting the urge to go back and relisten to some of their albums. I've always really enjoyed Sticky Fingers and Let It Bleed, and there's some fantastic stuff on this album too. Maybe I'll make that a goal for this weekend.

um. ok. Really?! I'm baffled by the lack of love for this masterpiece. After floundering (just a little bit) with psychedelia, this is where The Stones found and perfected their sound which they would simply tweak for the rest of their career. And that sound that they developed was just pure genius and utterly unique. Henceforth, countless bands would be complacent to mine this terrain. From a certain perspective, it would not be crazy to call this Alternative Country. Because that's what they did with this release. They made white trash hillbilly music hip. As I said, genius!

I adore this album. They nailed the rootsy blues rock sound they were going for. My favourite tracks are probably Sympathy, Dear Doctor and Prodigal Son.

Yep this. I really dig the sound they're going for on this and it's my fav by them. A coupla songs don't fit that well (I particularly don't like "Street Fighting Man") but I really enjoy riding on the sliding tracks.

As a bonus, its cover art would influence countless punk rock club bathroom walls. javascript:emoticon('')

You're totally right. Street Fighting Man doesn't fit. Great song, but out of place.
