Is it solipsistic in here or is it just me?

Absolutely, 100% amazing. This is the album that made me fall in love with Jack White. It's pure magic from start to finish. "Ball And Biscuit" is almost certainly my favorite White Stripes song.

Seven Nation Army is a very fun song; the rest of it isn't. It (the album) sounds decent, but the white stripes is a no fun band so much of the time and they really should be. This is especially considering their particular branch of rock needs it.

Yeah, what they all said (except for Happymeal, obviously), White Blood Cells but I do love me some Ball And Biscuit though.

I loved it when it came out, but struggle to get through it now (it doesn't help that its opening number is a song that I've grown to fucking hate). I guess my favourites are 'I Just Don't Know What To Do With Myself', even if it is little more than a faithful (if rockified) cover, 'In The Cold, Cold Night', which is wonderfully sultry and yet still fragile as fuck, and the closer, which is funny and twee and knowing in the best ways possible, a genuinely likeable song that works in every sense. I still like some of the bluesier numbers ('Ball and Biscuit' is dope, 'Girl, You Have No Faith In Medicine' is fun), but I've heard 'Seven Nation Army' and 'Hardest Button to Button' waaaaaaaay too many times, and far too often this album is totally ridiculous ('There's No Home For You Here', 'Little Acorns', though I guess there is something strangely enjoyable about the latter). It's also three or four songs too long, but Jack White never was the best self-editor. I'd rather listen to any of the first three records than this these days, though I'd still rather listen to this than anything White has done since, but overall theirs isn't a sound that resonates with me particularly anymore.

A really good album, but Get Behind Me Satan is better...more eclectic and more creative.
