OK, this is something that would probably be more suited to the controversial opinions thread, but whatever: the Talking Heads were a great singles band and a fairly mediocre album band. Whew, since I've got that off my chest, I'll go ahead and say The Cure were too.

Think

The Talking Heads I can sort of understand, but the Cure? I'm not even in the same stadium with you there. I didn't even like them until I heard their albums in full.

Don't get me wrong, I like their albums, especially Three Imaginary Boys and The Head On The Door. But yeah, I generally much prefer either of their best-ofs (Staring at the Sea, Greatest Hits) to any of their albums.

To be honest, it hasn't even occurred to me to listen to the Cure in compilation form. Will have to give that a go sometime. (Disintegration is their best, though)

Staring at the Sea is LITERALLY the greatest comp EVER and has a great, natural flow to it. Greatest Hits, not so much.
