Ska's such an under appreciated genre, and these guys did it better than just about anyone else.

Someone tell me how much I'll like this album based upon these opinions

-I'm not a huge ska fan
-Ska punk is usually gross
-I enjoy playing Little Bitch on DDR
-The song Rat Race isn't bad
-Too Much Too Young is horribly sexist

You'll love it. It's great.

And "Too Much Too Young" is not "horribly sexist".

So refreshing after years of avoiding Ska due to bad ska punk bands(I still like Op Ivy and Rancid though).

One of the best ska albums ever. Lyrically impressive too, really captures the attitude and feeling of a specific time and place

What do you consider "bad ska punk" bands? Feel like people hear "Sell Out", "The Rest of My Life", "Beer", and "The Impression That I Get" and go "Ew this is the genre? I'm out" when that's really not fair, those are all great bands with much better songs.

Nice picks with Operation Ivy and Rancid though.

I certainly don’t find any bit of anything redeemable about Sublime or Reel Big Fish, and I mostly agree that these crossover bands are generally pretty mediocre if not awful for my tastes. In fact I absolutely loathe Reel Big Fish—though I would be lying if I said I don’t like any Less Than Jake or No Doubt songs (or albums). But I can certainly see why a lot of people have a bad impression of this particularly annoying vocal minority of third wave ska.

People go straight to Sublime, always. I'd say little of what they did was truly as ska as it was reggae. Outside of Date Rape, there aren't a lot of pure ska punk songs they have, and that's definitely their best song. Reel Big Fish is fun as anything, but lyrically leaves something to be desired for sure. Their singles are not always the best things off their albums. But other bands, Streetlight Manifesto and Less Than Jake and No Doubt and Big D and Madness and Catch 22 and Rancid and Operation Ivy and Ringo Ska and others are genuinely great bands.

The Warped Tour kind like Leftöver Crack,Citizen Fish,Mad Caddies and some of the Ska songs NOFX did.
