Such fun.

Also: way back then, it was probably the entry point into hip-hop to a lot of whiteys like me who were totally charmed at first listen, and then delved into the genre when they were into alt/indie stuff (I was 17 anbd hadn't really got over The Smiths' split then Laughing )

I like what this album has going for, but it's far too inconsistent for me to fully love it.

Very true. Not just for whiteys but also for females. Okay, white females. Laughing

LOVE this record! You know what's funny? Repo is actually on the dot. Almost every girl that I've been with (that's "into" music) says that the main hip-hop that she likes is De La Soul.

"Eye Know" may be my favorite song from the '80s and this is one of my favorite albums from the '80s.

It's always rising on my chart.

All the girls I know who are into hip-hop cite DMX and Capone-N-Noreaga and Onyx and Heltah Skeltah as the reasons.

It's pretty cool. Feels a bit dated to me. Idk. I should probably listen to it again.

When I was a kid, I was dying to know girls who were into DMX. De La Soul too. ...actually, I wouldn't have been picky - a girl who liked Coolio would've sufficed.
