I've been really getting into the first two Magnetic Fields albums lately, the only two that feature vocals from Susan Anway. They're so quaint yet so emotionally resonant and occasionally surreal. The songs are extremely catchy and well-constructed too. Two perfect pop albums in my opinion.
getting randomly as always, a lot to explore still, but these days I've been into ambient, and folk (principally at home and in the back seat when coming home at car). _________________ Top 100 Hits you must hear before the u... of beauty

Shout - Tears for Fears. Past the 5 star point, IMO.
Funny you should mention this band. I thought of them too. I got into TFF in February. That's not very recent, but it was 2014 and less than a year ago. That's recent in my book. Their first two albums are awesome.
I tend to listen to an artist obsessively if I like them at first blush, but there are rare artists who sleep for awhile before I realize how great they are. I got onto a Serialism kick about a week ago that I've had a hard time shaking, I've been listening to more Lowercase than I have in close to four years. Oh, and black metal. So, specifics would be Alban Berg, Jurg Frey, and Sarcofago.

I'm the opposite. For many of my favorite musicians, I heard two, three, or more albums worth of material and thought they were alright but nothing special for several months, only later digging into their catalog after something clicked upon revisiting them. This happened with Tortoise, Oval, Joanna Newsom, Dirty Three, Talk Talk, Don Cherry, Low, Mark Kozelek's projects, Sun Ra, and most things. Recently, I've been obsessively listening to Spring Heel Jack's and Autechre's entire catalogs, both of whom I've been somewhat familiar with (Amassed and Disappeared, Tri Repetae and Confield and Chiastic Slide, and various remixes and collabs they've done) for at least three years.
