This idea was originally considered but you could then have inconsistencies between the year, decade, and overall charts where an album could be ranked higher in one chart, but lower in another due to the different scores. Also, one overall score for each album is more flexible & scalable than an arbitrary number of scores depending on how many types of aggregate chart there are here, especially with the possibility of other charts being added in the future (e.g. genre).

All true, but I would still prefer it. I guess I'm not too concerned about inconsistencies in the order of the various charts, so long as it was clearly explained in the header/FAQ that they were different things. Any new type of chart could be handled in the same way as year/decade/overall.
I mean, it's not a big deal, but year/decade charts may as well get no weight at all in the current system for all the impact they have on the rankings (2015 excepted, of course).
