Hey Holly, from a sonic standpoint, how would you compare the styles and affectation James uses on Shake What God Gave Ya to Sunset Man?
I've always preferred the latter, because it's his chance to construct a legend around his mythos. The hard edges and "canonical" approach to guitar playing almost make it his equivalent to Bob Dylan's 1976 opus Desire.
To me, the Sunset Man album has more traditional sounding country music on it compared to Shake What God Gave Ya which has nothing but country soul on it.
