Its my 40th birthday later this year, and for the party playlist I've had the idea of including one song per year going back in time from 2015 to 1975.
Heres my list as it currently stands, although I've already changed it a few times. Would be interested in other peoples opinions of any glaring omissions.
Here we go:

1976 - David Bowie - Golden Years
1975 - Led Zeppelin - Trampled Under Foot
I did this for my 30th back in 2008. Be sure to explain to all your guests what they're listening to and be prepared to have them criticize every single song. We could barely make it through the early/mid 90s for everyone whining about how I didn't pick their favorite song.
I don't think there's any overlap in our lists, but I don't see anything on yours that I would consider indefensible (maybe "Scar Tissue" ). For 2015, may I suggest "The Scene Between" by the Go Team? I don't think it'll enter the canon of great songs, but it's fun as hell and definitely party music. I also think you're required to play Jimmy Buffet's "A Pirate Looks at Forty."
