(translation: tsk, tsk, tsk and cough, cough)

As I write this, David Gilmour is noodling on his latest album 'Rattle That Lock.' Halfway through and it feels like Pink Floyd but with little twists as you go. Gilmour tranverses the ubiquitous sound but ventures into tinges of other genres as he goes. Currently middle of the road for me for 2015.

My aim for this diary will be to showcase random and obscure releases with trips to normality.

Next on my list is Crab Smasher - World Of Babies; a 14 minute EP that I am unsure where it will take me.

SO FAR
David Gilmour - Rattle That Lock
Crab Smasher - World Of Babies
Editors - In Dream
Sulfur - Delirium Tremens
I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness - Dust
The Haters - The Whipping
Sonia Dada - Sonia Dada
Atoms For Peace - Amok
GRRR - GRRR
Mood481 - Transit
Ali Murray discography

Well, Crab Smasher was a blur really. Nothing to write home about. Noise, musique concrete and high levels of experimentation.

Currently listening to:

In Dream by Editors

Sulfur - Delirium Tremens

A dark cabaret journey similar to that of Marc and the Mambas. Cannot remember where I even got this from now. Only started and the first few tracks really knock you into a swirling circus of hideous creatures and deformed entertainers.

The Haters - The Whipping

You may think this release might have something deeper than just whipping.

Nope.

One of the strangest albums I have come across. Not for the pure lack of 'music' but that this was even thought of in the first place.

For tonight's listening pleasure: Sonia Dada (1992)

As in, you don't treat me no good no more.

Previous post: I just got Amok on vinyl - brand new! Gave it another listen and still love it.

Just finished listening to GRRR.

80s Dutch Anarcho-punk with traces of post-punk. Some great songs on here (Soldier's Grief, 1984, He Had To Eat His Dog). Really worth a listen.

Currently listening to another Mood481 track. The man releases a lot of music. More than me I think.

Transit is a 20 minute soundscape, heavy in the realm of ambient electronica.

If you are a fan of ambient/folk material, this guy is amazing. Just listened to Muffled Prayer and was instantly hooked.
