Kind of a TLOP kind of album where it's disorganized and not cohesive with all the one minute tracks that seemed unfinished but that's not a problem because it's awesome and is near the level of Pet Sounds. Album bangs in the car and in the gym

Yoooo Smile Sessions rules. Kinda weird 'cause Pet Sounds doesn't do it for me at all, but I'm sure I'll come around on that eventually. Smile is just a little more catchy and surprisingly cohesive for an unfinished thing. I'm a real sucker for that track cross-reference-y stuff too, really makes the whole thing feel thought-out. My one complaint other than the unfinished stuff is that good vibrations seems tacked on at the end, it doesn't really blend in like the other tracks do. (still a great song, though)

This is the strangest image I've ever had.

Heck, guys, I've listened to

Morton Feldman: String Quartet No. 2 by FLUX Quartet at the gym, and even I think that's crazy.

Smile by Brian Wilson

Much prefer this record... the sessions has all of it, but I like the above record more than even Pet Sounds.

What do you prefer about Brian Wilson Presents? I found it too easy to spot the contemporary patchworking and it was a bit off-putting. But it's been a long time since I listened to that version of the record, what with the Sessions and Smiley Smile being the two I've appraised against each other for a couple years.

I just feel that out of the three, it is the most complete, holistic experience. It's like he finally finished the final idea and it shows. Sessions gives this feel of, ok here's all the stuff recorded, you figure out how it should "end" whereas Smile is an actual complete album/idea... in my opinion of course.

contemporary patchworking= polished/produced? Then maybe that's actually what I like about it and maybe what you didn't? It finally didn't sound like a bunch of music ideas that were never finished/polished/produced to the final potential.

What I wrote on my "review":
If only this was the Beach Boys original release... as I think them performing it in their prime would have only made this album so much more amazing. I love this and feel it is more of a masterpiece than Pet Sounds. It also makes me happy that Brian was able to triumph over mental health issues and complete this awesome work.
