Also, Yes, Randy was a truly fantastic guitar player. Does anyone else here not necessarily love his tone though? Like his playing more than makes up for it when it comes to my ears, but I've always just thought his tone could have sounded better.

Ozzy's first two albums kick serious ass, and OZZY himself is a key reason why.

Got to see Built To Spill cover Mr Crowley once and that was the highlight of the entire show for pretty much everyone in my circle.

Randy Rhoads was a god.

This. Most of Ozzy's solo career has been hit or miss, but those first two albums were killer and he deserves the majority of the credit.

Ozzy is exceptionally good at pairing himself up with incredible guitarists. Randy Rhoads is what makes his first set of albums incredible, Jake E. Lee was a great guitarist, but not good enough to carry him later, Zakk Wylde was good enough to carry him on a few albums, and so far Gus G. has been great, but Ozzy's just getting old and the music sounds tired.

Gus G is probably the best he's had, too.

The Black Sabbath breakup was a major bummer -- but then we got Ozzy solo AND a reformed Sab with Dio!

1980 was like getting two for one with Ozzy's debut here and Sab's Heaven and Hell, both of which were waaayyy better than anything Sabbath had done in a long time. Sometimes things work out for the best, at least for us fans.
