some band with four irish d-bags. You know the one theres one d-bag who has red tinted sunglasses and another d-bag called the ledge or something and a couple of other d-bags.
My logic for this is simple. All three of these band have made 4+ albums that I consider perfection. Not to mention the rest of their discography's are good also. How many groups can you say that about? Most bands have just a couple of good albums and yet some of you still say they are the best. Of course this is a matter of taste, but I would hope that any band you consider the best would have (in your opinion) more then just a few great albums.
I'm sure most people feel that their favorite artist has multiple great albums/songs/whatever.
For the sake of the argument, I'll nominate 4:
Prince
The Cure
Eurythmics
Björk
All have several 5-star albums in my book. These artists present such singular and vibrant sounds and images and have inspired hosts of followers. However, I'm sure many would scoff at the notion of any of these being the best ever, just as I scoff at the notion of Led Zeppelin, The Beatles and Pink Floyd.
I think it's far more interesting, accurate and worthwhile to celebrate who we view as favorites as opposed to engaging in tired and cliched pissing contests over some mythical and nonexistent true hierarchy of "greatness".
I thought about responding point by point, but I think my statement stands for itself and covers everything you said.
I apologize for attaching the last paragraph of my post to your quote, as you quite clearly indicated "for me there are three bands that qualify". Sorry for that.
However, the main point of my post was to say that those voting for bands other than the ones you listed as the best probably don't think that they only have a few good albums.

It's no big deal

Songs like this are the reason The Beatles are the greatest.
Just two typical songs that are out of the many Beatles songs that are the backbone of their discography and are like little gems you find placed in between huge classic songs that take you on magical mystery tours.
