1975:
Jeff Beck - Blow By Blow (Beck's best and one of the best instrumental guitar albums ever)
Rainbow - Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow
Deep Purple - Come Taste The Band

1977:

Interesting lists. As a big find I find it really interesting that you have News Of The World higher on 1977 list than ANatO on the 1975 list

Considering your suggestions, I take it you agree?

For me it's a matter of numbers... add up the songs, get album average, then rank accordingly. News of the World got an 85 and ANatO got an 80.

Actually I don't agree at all, I just found it curious. ANatO is my fave Queen album and probably in my top 20 albums of all time, while News is for me one of the weaker Queen albums and certainly their weakest in the 70's. It does have some stellar songs though, every Queen album does.

Oh ok. Thought maybe your previous suggestion was based on that, but makes sense seeing you were suggesting stuff that maybe was missing.

Also Queen is a tough band for me. Great energy live, fantastic singles, but just above average albums. I'd expect amazing albums from a band like that, but I feel like they never reached amazing album status... amazing single status, amazing band status, but never (in my book) amazing album status.

Even though they are my favourite band, I agree to an extent with you. Their albums aren't as good as their singles, but it is mostly because the singles were so good throughout their career. That being said, I still think they have 5-6 great albums, and a couple of very good ones. The four album stretch from Queen II to A Day At The Races is classic.
