Nah, Townes Van Zandt is not country. Rather folk. Although, in the famous words of Kris Kristofferson: "If it sounds country, man, that's what it is. It's a country song".

I love Johnny Cash. The man was brilliant.

I also absolutely love Buck Owens! Yeah, he was much, much more than just the "grinin'" to Roy Clark's "pickin'" on Hee-Haw. If you want to hear a wonderful country album, may I suggest Buck Owens and His Buckaroos - Carnegie Hall Concert.
