I have been working on this one awhile. A little over half of the albums are things that I have added, so try listening to something new!

nice Bud Powell, I've been really digging his stuff this year. I'll have to try to check out that Penderecki, I've been jamming Kosmogonia a lot, especially love Fluorescenses off that one.

Great to see this. Too rare on this site (which, understandably, is very Rock heavy as are most such sites). _________________ Best Classical

I second the "nice Bud Powell!" He never ceases to amaze me. True genius there.
Also very cool to see the more obscure Thad Jones so high on the chart.
Well Done and thanks for sharing!

I have an overall jazz chart as well as top 100s in jazz from each decade from the '50s through th '10s. I also have individual charts for jazz by primary instrument (guitar, piano, trumpet, and sax).
I would love to do the same with classical, but to be perfectly honest, I don't have the will to enter all my great classical CDs into the database. It would be nice to do charts by era (baroque/classical/romantic/20th century) and type (symphony/concerto/sonata/ quartet/solo) .I also have a hard time reconciling how to rank classical since the composer and performer are usually different entities.
