Hey yo (not )oe) Purple Hazel,

Bang A Gong! Good pick, I grew up with T. Rex so that one resonates with me. The artist on your list that is most intriguing (and I have seen others really rate it) is Funkadelic. It must be the album title. Were they drinking tequila by any chance!

Painful by Yo La Tengo

Here is exhibit A; my favourite album of all time. Though I could make a strong case for all five categories, I think it best plays to the fourth one. It’s romantic, but in a way that you’ve never heard before.

Good day (or evening) Komorebi-D,

I see Yo La Tengo on a lot of lists. High praise for this album, so I promise to Spotify it today and give it a listen. Hoping to love it too!

Haha, according to the leader, George Clinton, the whole band took acid before they recorded this.

Funkadelic's first three albums are all mash-ups of funk, soul and acid rock. Funkadelic's also practically the only funk/soul artist from the 60s and 70s that you could call experimental, though a majority of the time the music's funk, rock and soul.

PurpleHazel,

Listened to Maggot Brain today. Yeah, it was a bit trippy. Well, tequila is more like a drug than alcohol, so I was close. I will listen to the Funkadelic album you recommended tomorrow.

Hi bobbyb5,

I just realized I have never listened to an entire B52s album. Crazy I know. I will remediate that tomorrow, so thanks for your picks.
