Two albums that I thought were good, but not great. Kelly Lee Owens had more standout tracks and was overall a more dynamic listen, so she gets my vote. _________________ Add me on RYM
This is a cruel matchup since I adore both albums, but still an easy vote for Music for People in Trouble, my AOTY for 2017. I was captivated by the the title and the album art even before listening. It was an instant love, I love how unhurried it is, her voice is so clear and the songwriting is amazing, full of details and subtleties. It feels like a journey and it's a perfect album for the night. It made me relisten to her previous albums which I hadn't cared too much for when I heard them before, and coming back to them with fresh ears I learned to love that side of hers too, now I'm a total fanboy.
I also love Kelly Lee Owens and have listened to her album tons of times. I especially love the Jenny Hval bits.
Two songs into the Kelly Lee Owens album I realised I had aalready listened to this album a few months ago. So yeah...a forgettable album for me. Susanne Sundfor gets my vote even though that's not really my thing either.
