I don't understand the argument that this record is "inconsistent"... When people say "oh, it's just three songs," I'm not even sure whether they're referring to Bargain or Behind Blue Eyes. And Getting in Tune is beautiful and very underrated, even if it's a little formulaic. To me, 6/9 songs are just clearly great, and the other 3 are all fun and decent enough. My Wife is the only one I could even understand disliking.

I always thought Going Mobile was catchy as hell.

I agree.

When I number the very few albums that I love or at least strongly like every last cut, Who's Next is right there in that elite company. Nothing feels like filler to me, it's all good.

10/10
They created many masterpieces, along with some garbage,
This creation, wih the original band members is a gem.

The 3 singles are bloody brilliant but the filler tracks are meh. One of the most inconsistent albums of all time. It has 3 moments of brilliance (Baba, Blue Eyes, Fooled) and the rest I can take or leave. If the tracks had been consistently good it would be in my top 5.

Sounds about right.

Potentially the greatest opening track ever made. After that, however, this album takes a big dive off of a massive cliff. I'd say it's inconsistent, but realistically what I'd mean is that it's one great track followed by 40 minutes of mediocrity. The Who just weren't an albums band, and that's cool.

Bargain and Love Ain't for Keeping are good songs, Getting in Tune is also decent. But the combo of This Song Is Ove + My Wife really kills the album, plus Going Mobile is also pure filler.

I agree. I actually feel it is one of the most consistently great albums ever recorded, it fires on all cylinders from start to finish.
