This is actually a masterful debut and my favorite though it is close. I think the bedroom tascam brush drums are some of the most claustropic sounding tin cans and when Panda Bear goes off in the intro to april and the phantom ive never heard drums sound like children beatboxing and it works so well. Two sophomores taking a lot of musical risks and then it paying off.

Edit: whatever filter they use on the bass guitar is one of my favorite sounds.

It's probably not something I ever paid attention to, but you're right, it's gorgeous. I also love the sound of the drums and Panda's playing. Just the phrenetic pace and crashing cymbals. Also it's honestly hard to believe these songs were written by a teenager.

A fantastic debut.
