I great, great record. Really raw and uninhibited. It's the sound of someone who truly does not give a fuck anymore. Not just because it's unafraid to call people out, but because Apple is just as willing to be emotionally open in a way that doesn't feel overwrought or suffocating like a lot of singer-songwriter music can.
This is really a fantastic album, I think my favorite thing is that Apple credits each of her 5 dogs on the album with things like "backing barks" and "collar jangles". I think some of the humans involved were also credited with silly instruments as well. Which makes sense since so much of the percussion consists of non-drum sounds. _________________ 51 Washington, D.C. albums!
