How likely are you to recommend a movie or TV show to others based on the strength of its soundtrack?

That's an odd question... Do you mean, without having even seen the movie myself? I'd say "not likely at all," personally.
The exception to that might be a situation where I'm living in a small rural town somewhere, and there's a movie out whose soundtrack was done by a band or musician I really like, but I can't see it yet because of limited distribution. So if I have a friend who lives in a big city, I might suggest that he/she go see it so they can tell me if it's any good (because oh-by-the-way I don't trust movie critics)... But that isn't really a "recommendation," it's more like a form of "city-dweller shaming."
I remember back in the punk/new-wave days (and I suspect this is also true for a lot of hip-hop-oriented movies too), the soundtrack was often the best thing about the movie, sometimes by far. The best example that I can think of off the top of my head is probably this one:

Don't waste your time on the movie, it's horrendous, but the album certainly has some decent stuff on it.
