I actually agree with Eggman's pick. Fellowship is, at least for me, the highlight of the trilogy, both in written form and in film.
The story really falls apart and becomes really stupid and predictable by the third instalment. It also has the most emotional investment for me - characters who you the viewer/reader ACTUALLY CARE ABOUT die in this one (Gandalf and Boromir) and the characters feel much more human and vulnerable than the ridiculous caricatures and seemingly death-resistant badasses they kinda become by the conclusion. And then you get to the end and Frodo and Sam never even get it on, wth? The entirety of Return of the King is such a tease!
I also enjoy the filmography from Fellowship the best (especially the extended cut - beeee-oo-tee-ful). |
Lemme get this straight. I don't really have a favorite from the trilogy.
Second, I disagree that it became stupid and predictable.
Third: to keep this short, I disagree with a significant part of the rest of your post too.

And it is here my friend that we part ways film-wise...a sad day...a sad day indeed :(
(oh and you prefer Fellowship's "Cinematography' I'm guessing? not it's....filmography :| |
...it was like 3 am where I was when I posted that and I was tipsy! Be glad I was writing in cohesive sentences.
Although back to The Two Towers and Return of the Kings, I've got this great drinking game - every time you witness a sudden deus ex machina, take a drink. The Two Towers might get you a little tipsy. Return of the King might just well kill you. _________________ A dick that's bigger than the sun.

Tiebreaker!
As of this message the score is tied at 14 - 14
This match will be left open for another 12 hours
And when I return there had better be a winner
