This thread will be for choosing individual teams for the Fantasy Oscars draft. This will not go about exactly like a Fantasy Football draft seeing as we don't have enough participants to work with that. Therefore, here's how the draft will go...

It will rely mostly on a first come, first serve basis. However, if someone before you picks Jennifer Lawrence for instance, you'll need to add 10 points onto the cost they paid. If a third player also picks Jennifer Lawrence, he must add 10 further points to the cost.

If you have questions regarding how to determine cost for actors/filmmakers/whatever, please see the original thread.

If you still have questions, feel free to ask in either thread, or to PM me.

Also, I'll refrain from drafting my movie crew until later on, so as to remove the admittedly huge advantage I have.

Have fun drafting, and remember to name your movie as well, just for giggles!

The Station - it's a dark comedy about a television network faced with replacing its two iconic broadcasters with younger faces to sell better, while also having to face the fact that these local legends are slowing down. Meanwhile, the old faces aren't going down without a fight.

IDK. Also Greenberg's related to me, so I'm taking him just cuz of that, I know he probably doesn't have any films out this year but, much like I draft Marvin Jones and Paul Poszluzny every year, I'll have to take him here

Producers: Grant Heslov (20 points), Richard Linklater (0 points), and Tom Berninger (0 points)
Director: Zach Braff (0 points)
Actors: Robin Williams (40 points)
Bill Murray (15 points)
Chris Pratt (0 points)
Amy Adams (5 points)
John Lithgow (10 points)
Screenwriters: James Gunn (0 points), Jonah Hill (0 points), and Mark Heyman (5 points)
Original Score/Composer: Danny Elfman (0 points)
Original Song: Boom Clap by Charli XCX (0 points)
Editor (film or Sound): Gerald B Greenberg (20 points)
Cinematographer: Alwin H. Küchler (0 points)
Visual Effects Artists: Cory C Myler (0 points), Brian Adler (0 points)
Miscellaneous:
Jon Favreau as comic book nerd/weatherman (0 points)
Chris Evans in cameo as male model interviewing (0 points)

Total points: 115

And more than anything, I would actually watch that movie minus the original song.

Quick question. can someone refer me to a good place to look up what awards people have won? I'm struggling. I'll be able to find the major actors easily, but the odd producers not so much. Here's a rough sketch of what I'm working with.

EDIT: posted final version in new post

I use the IMDb awards page for each individual. Pretty easy that way since only Oscar BAFTA and Golden Globe wins count.

Milk Toast - A boring, but not entirely uninteresting man, John Smith has few to no friends at his job working for what is essentially the poor man's Google. As a practical joke, John's co-workers secretly create an instagram account of him doing the most boring mundane things possible while hyping it up as if he's a wildman. The account is named Milk Toast (a malapropism of the word milquetoast) and goes viral to the amazement of the creators and without notice from John Smith. Due to his lack of social media awareness, John finds himself living a very Truman Show existance, but in real life as people now go out of their way to snap Milk Toast doing normal things like getting the mail, feeding his cats, and brushing his teeth.

Producers: Charlie Kaufman (40)
Director: David Fincher (15)
Actors/Actresses: Jesse Eisenberg (0), Michael B. Jordan (0), Mark Ruffalo (0), Scarlet Johansson (10), Elijah Wood (0)
Screenwriters: Mark Heyman (0)
Original Score/Composer: Owen Pallett (0)
Original Song: Arcade Fire (0)
Editor (film or Sound): Gary Roach (0)
Cinematographer: Emmanuel Lubezki (40 - 30+10 jhereko)
Miscellaneous: Steve Carell (5) and Emma Stone (0) - cameos as themselves

Total = 110

(I'm hoping I did this right...)

Yeah! I wish there was a way to make this a reality, keeping the exact same dialogue.
