- Post subject: How often should you listen to your favourite album?
|
I was going to put this question in the Lounge but thought it was still musically relevant. But it's a question I get asked a fair bit and I often ask a lot of people and almost everyone I ask will listen to their favorite album about once every 4 or 5 months. Some haven't listened to theirs in over a year or some even longer.
So is your favorite album something you should listen to all the time or something you listen to only on special occasions so as to not ruin the listening experience for yourself?
Personally I haven't listened to my two favorites (OK Computer and Wish You Were Here) for just over a year.[/u] _________________ Having a family is the kind of thing that could be held against a person

I think I should change my best album on my chart, I really dont listen to it as much as I use to just because I have found more music to love. But when I loved it i listened to it about two or three times a week. _________________ sig

Very good question. Lets look at my top 5:
Little Earthquakes: 1.5 Months Ago
DSOTM: 3 Months Ago
The Blue Album: 3 Months Ago
OK Computer: Less Than a Month Ago
Abbey Road: Three Months Ago
Man, I need to spend more time away from my faves. I need to practice musical abstinence; to delay my gratification until the time is right.

No. I went to Melbourne for the Muse concert. They didn't come to Adelaide so I went to them!

My favourite albums are on my iPod (Joy Division, the Velvet Underground, Sonic Youth, Pixies...), so I listen to them on a regular basis.
I listen to new stuff at home, where I can fully concentrate on the music. _________________ I'll be your plastic toy.

I really don't know how often I listen to OK computer but it's something I do once a month for sure, not considerating that I listen to songs like Lucky or No Surprises something like once a day...
In my opinion there's not a right or a wrong answer to your question. It's just about you, when you're feeling that you want to listen to your favourite album you gotta do it, because THAT'S FOR SURE THE RIGHT MOMENT!
